I want something done about this as well as the fact that people are exploiting this opportunity's to get money outa ppl just so they can go in to halls in a decent group.
if they don't remove the ranks or give us a option to report people who as for rank they should at least find out who the people that farm rank for other people are and get them baned.

So much nonsensical rambling. The bottom line...you are just jealous of others hard work. What rank are you?
How many hours have you spent playing heros? Or did you just walk up and expect a free ride?
You are not a special and unique snowflake!
Rather than looking within to resolve you're problems the blame must be with others, sorry if I'm not wiping tears from my eyes over you're sad tale.
I have NEVER EVER seen anyone ask for money to get into HA group. I think the community as a whole would come down hard on anyone that dared to speak such nonsense in public chat. With that said, I doubt Anet would care if such an agreement were to transpire, since it doesn't involve real world money exchanging hands, and is tantamount to a verbal contract between agreeable parties. You don't have to pay...and they don't have to help you.

Was getting that emote hard? Yes, it was. Is the fact that HA is hard for new players an excuse for lying to other people? No, it's not. I don't respect scammers, neither in HA, nor elsewhere. I certainly don't want to play either with you or your friends if THAT's the way you ranked up.
|
ur def for scamming is quite odd.. did we hurt anyone in the process? no we didnt. if we did we would have been kicked from the party. So we didnt "scam" groups of other good players. we WERE good players that understood the pvp aspect that just didnt have rank.

I used to do halls a lot back when you didn't have to be rank 3+ or 6+ (ahh those were the days) but I haven't done halls in a long time just because I'm not waiting around for an hour looking for a group. Personnally I don't think I'm bad at the game at all (possibly better thans some R3 or R6 even...maybe) but without the rank emote no one is gonna let me in anyway so I figure screw them. Not really angry about this I just find something else to do and it's not a big deal, but that's my take on the halls/rank thing.
Oh yeah, I don't understand the point of removing rank 6 and under. I don't think it's gonna change much. Or at least it won't change things for long.

I have seen this kind of "service" in HA, too - offered by a member of a well known IWAY guild for _real_ cash.

the rankest attitude is almost worse then the racsist issues in GW. IDK. I personally go with guildies. some ahve rank some don't I don't play much HA anymore. actually not since the change over really from halls... I just lost all interested in it with Iway in there... Balanced teams are for me, and only place you see this is in PvE atm... in anycase...
The Rankest crap will either stop. get worse or not be a factor. I see 3 possibilities.
Nothing changes and people continue to get rank forever. thus all teams require rank 15+ to play in heroes ascent some day in the future... if not, your trash and they will not even talk to you... Whatever... It used to be Rank 3 required now its rank 8 or higher is the min... so it will progress..
Anet makes it so rank does not matter in some way. maybe by eliminating rank for HA or capping it in some way. Thus there is a limit to the Rankest attitude in the game.
Anet periodically resets Rank. Possibility every chapter... Thus giving everyone equal footing without extensive bias. much like the ladder system with the guilds... Rank is top player, Rating is top guilds...Annual reset...
Now I like this option but I doubt it will happen... However it really should. because the people that are farming rank now for a fee are ruining PvP it for the rest of the game community.
I think the faction changes will be a benefit. and most of the jerk holes will move on to later areas in the game eventually leaving the HA open again... Don't get me wrong, I know some of the guys in PvP and they are generally ok, but there is a large group of powerful Iway fools that love to berate ANYONE that DARES even bother to challenge their hall. lol Whatever... When you play it so long and thats the best you can do. well.. The real pitty is you. lol Not the people you berate. Hey Let shut them in the vault sometime and leave them there. lol Fine you want it? thats the only place you can go now for life. lol
But honestly now. How does anyone that just got the game expect to be able to learn if people act as they FREQUENTLY do in HA... seriously... we were all rank 0 not all that long ago people. Boy would it be righteous to have it back to that status again... The top 10 rank players in the game get some sort of minor recognition and everything reset to 0 again for everyone. new old vet everyone. lol That would truly be something worth seeing...

Yep, and some players that know the proffessions well.
And i have the feeling this post was placed by someone with rank 7 +.
Rank doesnt say how good you are, but how good you can play in teams.
Good tactics and commication is nice too.
And also remember its a game..... dont get a big ego because your rank 12 like some well know players do.

I started playing Guild Wars last May when it came out. I was strictly PvE until I finished the game with all 6 char having to delete my first ele and monk. I then ventured into the PvP arenas and learned real quick the big difference between the two areas. I knew virtually all the skillz of each class yet had to relearn their usefulness in the PvP arena. I spent many hours in random arenas testing builds. I then moved to tombs about the time the spirits were nerfed.I spent countless hours playing with pugs earning fame 1 match at a time. Sometimes I would gain 10 fame in one night, other times I would go fameless after many hours of joining pug after pug. But as was stated before, I always gained the most fame in a night after being patient and staying with one group and just working out bugs after each losss, unlike the majority of peeps who leave immediately after the battle is lost and in search of the next unorganized pug. I quit PvPing once the IWAY builds ran amuck simply because IMO it was overpowered and too easy to farm fame with. If it wasnt overpowered then why did EVERYBODY jump on the bandwagon? I have just started to PvP again finally making Rank 4 just a few nights ago. My point is after such a long post is that to remove rank would not be fair to those who earned it the hard way. I spent hours on this website and many others studying post by Ensign and others trying to get a deeper understanding of all aspects of the game in order to increase my skill level.I got my arse handed to me by countless players while testing builds only to be flamed after the loss as being such a NOOB. So, if you cant get in a group....make your own. If you dont know how.....study. If you do get in a group and get flamed for not being Uber Leet...get over it and find others who are more respectful and will help you.On a side note....I have a vent server and when I make a group, I have everyone to get on vent. I am AMAZED at all the little disrespectful,RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOy, know-it-all kids that play this game. So,to all those who cant get into groups Good luck and if you don't make things happen, then they WON'T happen!Peace!

Rank discrimination = experience discrimination, which actually takes place in real life too, especially in the workforce. If you have working experience, you will find yourself easier to get a job compared to say..a fresh grad.
Fame is not the problem here but the players themselves.

I think the point was when iWay was in swing it was easy to get lower rank (not high rank) easily and only know how to play iWay.
This also caused some to "up" the rank requirement to join, due to how easy it was to get lower rank via iWay.
Now that iway is gone, this may correct itself.

Complete Rank reset every chapter... New game new rank. period. problem solved... end of rankism.. for want of a better word...
If they rage quit the game over it. so much the better... Their loss, not ours...
